The Right to Information Act 2005 (Act No. 22 of 2005) is a landmark legislation enacted by the Parliament of India to empower citizens, promote openness, and maintain accountability in the functioning of every public authority.
Bihar National College (B.N. College), Patna, a constituent unit of Patna University, strictly complies with all provisions of the RTI Act, ensuring that all bona fide information not exempted under Section 8 & 9 of the Act is made accessible to citizens in a timely manner.
Submit a written application in Hindi or English specifying the exact particulars of information sought along with your full name, postal address, and contact details addressed to the Public Information Officer (PIO), B.N. College, Patna.
Attach an application fee of ₹10/- (Ten Rupees) by way of Indian Postal Order (IPO) / Demand Draft / Banker's Cheque drawn in favor of "Principal, Bihar National College, Patna" or Court Fee Stamp / Cash receipt. (BPL cardholders are exempt from payment).
Information is supplied within 30 days from the date of receipt of the application. If information concerns life and liberty of an individual, it is provided within 48 hours.
If not satisfied with the response or in case of non-receipt within 30 days, an applicant can file a First Appeal under Section 19(1) of the RTI Act to the First Appellate Authority (Principal, B.N. College) within 30 days.
