Bihar National College, Patna, popularly recognized as B.N. College, is one of the premier and oldest educational institutions in Eastern India. Established in 1889 AD, the college has been serving society for over 137 years as a beacon of knowledge, nationalism, and academic innovation.
Long before the creation of Patna University in 1917, B.N. College was already functioning as an esteemed center of higher learning. Founded during the Indian National Awakening by visionary educationists and nationalists, the college played a monumental role in shaping the intellectual, political, and socio-economic landscape of Bihar and India.

Our Visionary Founders
The foundation of Bihar National College was laid by two illustrious brothers from Kulharia village who devoted their personal wealth and careers to national awakening through education:
Babu Bisheshwar Narayan Singh
(1849 - 1898 AD)
Commissioner of Patna Municipality, freedom fighter, and visionary co-founder of B.N. College in 1889.
Babu Shaligram Singh
(1852 - 1905 AD)
Law graduate from Presidency College Calcutta (1877), Advocate at Calcutta High Court & nationalist leader.

Over the decades, B.N. College has evolved into a vibrant multi-disciplinary institution offering Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs across Science, Arts, and Vocational Streams.
