NCC Legacy at B.N. College

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit at Bihar National College is under the operational command of 1 Bihar Battalion NCC, Patna. It has an illustrious heritage of shaping disciplined, courageous, and patriotic youth who excel in defense services, civil administration, and nation-building initiatives.

Cadets undergo structured training spanning parade drill, small arms weapon handling, obstacle crossing, map reading, field tactics, first-aid, disaster relief protocols, and youth leadership camps across India.

Core Training Modules

Drill & Parade

Foot drill, arms drill, ceremonial guard of honour, and march-past conditioning on the college ground.

Weapon Firing

.22 rifle firing practices, stripping and assembling of service weapons under army instructor supervision.

Map Reading & Field Craft

Prismatic compass navigation, grid coordinates, night march, and field signal tactical exercises.

Adventure & Trekking

Mountaineering expeditions, river rafting, parasailing, cycle rallies, and all-India national trekking camps.

Benefits of 'B' & 'C' Certificates

Direct SSB Entry in Indian Armed Forces: 'C' certificate holders with 'A' or 'B' grade are exempt from the CDS written examination and qualify directly for the SSB interview for NCC Special Entry Scheme (Officers Training Academy, Chennai).

Bonus Marks in CAPF & Police: Additional weightage points (up to 5% bonus marks) in recruitment for BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, and Bihar Police Sub-Inspector/Constable examinations.

Academic Preference: Weightage marks during PG admissions, university reservations, and national scholarship opportunities.

Enrollment Process

Open to regular 1st-year UG students of B.N. College.
Physical fitness test (Running, Push-ups, Height/Weight standards).
Basic interview & document verification.
Enrolment occurs annually in August – September.
